Default Hayao Miyazaki Film Collection Coming (NA) - Favorite Miyazaki Films?

The Collected Works of Hayao Miyazaki is an Amazon.com exclusive based on a Japanese release

It contains the following films:
  • Lupin III: The Castle of Cagliostro
  • Nausica? of the Valley of the Wind
  • Castle in the Sky
  • My Neighbor Totoro
  • Kiki's Delivery Service
  • Porco Rosso
  • Princess Mononoke
  • Spirited Away
  • Howl's Moving Castle
  • Ponyo
  • The Wind Rises

Which ones are your favorites?

(Unfortunately, I had to leave out Lupin due to the max number of options.)

Where the **** is Whisper of the Heart?

I would love to have this set, but I already own most of movies anyway. Spirited Away was the first Miyazaki film I saw. It's definitely one of the best. My favourites are WotH, Spirited Away, Castle in the Sky, Howl's Moving Castle, My Neighbour Totoro, and Ponyo. Kiki's Delivery Service and Porco Rosso are also amazing. I love the others but not nearly as much as those listed.

My avatar is from Howl's Moving Castle, when they are walking by the Mut und Willenskraft poster (this clued me in to the fact that Howl's Moving Castle takes place in a German-speaking land with airhips and golemhouses). <3

I have only seen two and I picked Princess Mononoke. Spirited Away is a bit overrated imo.

Ah you're right, he was the writer and not the director. I still count it as my favourite Miyazaki, but for the poll's sake I chose Howl's Moving Castle.

It's roughly 20 bucks per movie plus the price of all the bonus stuff, which isn't terrible.
I don't have the money for it either though which really sucks.

I love Whisper of the Heart. <3 My favorite Studio Ghibli film. The director, Yoshifumi Kondō, died before he could make anymore films.

Yeah, it's a great price if you haven't gotten around to owning all of the Miyazaki films on Blu-Ray. Totally worth the money.

Kondo's passing was such a tragedy.
He was basically Miyazaki's successor and the works he had a lot of influence on, Kiki and Whisper of the Heart, are some of the studios best stuff.

I'm glad you appreciate it as much as I do! It's just such a sweet story, plus the view of Tokyo from grandfather's balcony, it's just magic. In addition, the story about grandfather/the Baron and his German girlfriend/the other cat figurine is so bitter-sweet. The successor, The Cat Returns, is also really good too

http://www.ghibliworld.de/index.php/...international/

it's in german but you can see the pics of the different versions. I just saw that the boxset was availible everywhere except north america. So I guess it was your turn and a nice one with a nice book and crap. I might get it if it'S not sold out already. Disney sure knows how to make money....and **** over the fans.

Not a riip off. I thought they re-release another box set but it's a first for NA. Every Box is missing something from the others thought XD

Ahh, Ok, good to know.

Not sure why it took so long to get here. Legal issues probably.

I own most of his works already so it would definitely be a waste for me... but it's hard for me to choose a favorite. All of his works are impacting in different ways.

Ahh, oatmeal. I had an awesome mashup video I wanted to post but now I can't find it. I'll have to dig around...

BAH. I can't find it yet, so I'll leave this here for now so I don't look like a total failure
