Hello everyone.
Today, I have went to the nearest Gamestop. While estimating the value exchange of some of my games and my old 3DS, the employee told me that I could get a New 3DS XL for 41$, or a a used New 3DS XL for 25$. The offer is very tempting. But here's the catch. I won't be able to transfer any of the data from my old 3DS to my new one. Is there a way to transfer games and save files only using SD cards? I have being playing several games lately and I don't want to loose all of my progress. Also, do you think the offer is worth it? Keep in mind, I'm trading like 6 or 7 games (including Super Mario Maker) for a 200$ discount on a New 3DS XL. |

Ask the employee if you could chill in the store and transfer the games there. This is completely dependent on if the employee will give you access to internet (or if a store nearby has it) but it's worth a shot. Mine let me do it back when the original 3DS XL came out. It takes a while but it's better than losing save files and games.
Also if you're not in a dead hurry wait until they have a promotion. Contrary to popular belief GameStop actually gives pretty fair prices if there's a deal going on; they have stuff like get 50% extra credit when you trade in x item pretty often and if you're patient enough you can get more money than you'd think. |

Might be too late by now, but when I traded in my Nintendo 3DS for the New 3DS XL at EB Games, they let me have both models for one week so I could do a System Transfer, then I traded in my old one. It's not possible to transfer using only an SD Card, it's separate from the System Memory.
