Default Yo-kai Watch General Thread

WHOO! After months and months of waiting Yo-kai Watch is finally here. At least on the eShop that is. Let's use this thread to talk about it since I'm too lazy and dumb to make an OT. Whoo! Let's do this ****!

Really enjoying the game so far. There's so much to explore and so many Yo-kai to look for just in the first two days of gameplay. Some of them are a real ***** to get. Dimmy, you bastard. Anywho, i like that the sidequests are a viable source of EXP. Usually sidequests are mostly crap. And they're so easy to finish that you don't feel like you've hit the EXP ceiling for the day until much later. Favorite Yo-kai so far is Cadin. That little dude kicks so much ass. Had to stop playing for right now because my 3DS is discharged but when I get back into it i'm gonna go on with the story bits.

Yeah I got it. After playing for the majority of the day I must say my favorite yokai so far is dimmy. He wasn't that hard to get for me tho. I just fed him some Raman noodles before the fight started and he was all mine. :3

I didn't really get the recruitment system at first but now I do and I have to say it's the one major flaw with Yo-kai Watch. Like, you have to use the Yo-kai's favorite food to try and get them to come to you but the food any given Yo-kai likes is super random. And to add to that, the various food items at your disposal have varying success rates for befriending the Yo-kai. This would be all well and good if it was like Pokemon and you could just try over and over again until you finally get the Yo-kai you want. But what with only being able to feed Yo-kai once during battle it makes it really hard to catch certain Yo-kai. It's kinda frustrating. Still, you do feel like a total boss when you finally get that one Yo-kai you've been looking for.

favorite food isn't random. it's just whatever their favorite food whether it makes them "like you a bit, a lot, a ton, etc." doesn't matter IMO. it's all RNG anyways.

i really hope this was fixed for yokai watch 2 and 3.
