Depends on what games you prefer to play

My personal favorites were

Fire Emblem Awakening
Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate
Kid Icarus Uprising

Pokemon OR/AS is always a good bet.
Monster Hunter is difficult to get into for me. Haven't had the time to sit with it for awhile but others think it's great. I'd recommend Bravely Default if you're looking for old time turn based RPG with a twist.
Xenoblade for sure.
If you're looking classic Super Mario then Mario Land 3D is one of the best in the series.

Maybe give us an idea of what you're looking for?

Kinda new to the whole Nintendo scene. I have played a couple Pokemon and Mario games and have enjoyed both. I'm set on getting Pokemon OR, but haven't decided on the other two. I also like competitive games a bit, so I was considering super smash bros. But I also love platformers

Pok?mon OR or AS is a good bet.
Ocarina of Time is a classic, you're gonna have to play it sooner or later if you already haven't. I would get that.
For the third, Resident Evil Reveleations is good if you're into that. Super Smash Brothers is also a good bet. Monster Hunter 4, Animal Crossing, and Fantasy Life are also good buys. Take your pick.

Pokemon OR for your RPG
Smash Bros. for your competitive play
New Super Mario 3D Land for a platformer

Rounds out your genres fairly well I'd say. And will keep you entertained for months.
