Default Gaming Pet Peeves

What are some of your gaming pet peeves? By that I mean things in-game that bug the crap out of you. I'll give you an example using one of mine. Now, I really like RPGs and I play a lot of them so this is a real big one. I really hate RPGs that dont give you adequate spots to level up in. Like you'll enter a new area and all the monsters are about the same level as the monsters in the previous area. Then you have to spend hours and hours beating on level 15 monsters just to grow a few levels. And I know what you're thinking. "Git gud, Baroque. You dont have to be overleveled to beat games lol loser." And to that I say forget you! It's not a matter of being overleveled. It's game devs trying to artificially lengthen their games by making you level grind. To me the best RPGs are ones that allow you to level up naturally as the game progresses and doesnt bog down the pace by making you level grind. Earthbound is a really good example of this. You can just beat on a few monsters here and there and then the boss battles will do the rest. But anyways, Ive ranted long enough. Go ahead and tell me some of your gaming pet peeves.

also the tour of the 1st town that you reach after you left home yay exciting stuff, i want an option where we can skip all this stuff and just get on with it

Overpowered RNG attacks from enemies/bosses that you can't avoid. The attacks that have no wind up or warning. Attacks with no start up frames.

One example of this is the 4 armed Simian boss in one of the early chapters of xenoblade x. He has an attack where he jumps in the air and slams down doing massive damage. It's the only boss that has caused me problems in my entire play so far. It's pretty hard to dodge and there's no warning or indication of him doing it.

Another pet peeve I have is having to go thru multiple final boss fights and cutscenes and not having a way to save or skip the parts you did.

Drop systems forcing you to grind an enemy for that 1% item you want

Synthesis systems that force you to carry outdated weapons and armor the entire game because you have no idea if youre going to need it as an ingredient for something.

For me it has got to be the linear levels in first person shooters, if there was a game that let me explore the environments i was shooting in that would be awsome this is why i love the Fallout series

I was going to complain about button mapping since I imported Bloodborne from Japan, the cross and circle buttons are switched but you can't remap them in-game.

And then I googled a solution and apparently, you can remap it through the PS4 itself.

Neat.

Then I guess re-skinned enemies and back-tracking.

I thought of another one. I really hate puzzles that are vague or badly presented so you sit there racking your brains for minutes and then it turns out the answer was something simple all along. The Layton series has a lot of these. One puzzle I did had you matching items that looked alike but then one of the items was colored differently from the other so I chose that one but it turned out that the item was just colored differently as a goof or a misdirection. Look, im all about making puzzles challenging but you shouldn't do it by giving false information. That's just lazy.

Hidden loading screens, like where you take a million elevator rides throughout the game. Ruins the flow even worse for me.
