Default To complete transfer data to another New 3DS XL, I really need to trade the SD card?

Hello everybody. Sorry for my English.

I already have a basic New 3DS XL black. I bought the New 3DS XL Hyrule Edition and want to transfer all the content from my current New 3DS XL to the new one Hyrule Edition.

I know how to transfer, what I want to know is: It's really necessary to remove the SD card from my current 3DS to replace the SD card in my new New 3DS XL? Or only doing the transfer process is enough?

Thanks.

it's not really necessary I copied all of my data from the included SD Card to my bigger one once I had formatted it to nintendo's standards and it's best to transfer it by replacing the 4GB Mirco SD Card that was included with a bigger size like 32GB

Hi, thanks for the answer. But I already had changed the SD cards between the New 3DS XL

It was necessary because when I did the transfer, in my New 3DS XL Hyrule Edition it didn't appeared any of my content, like the save games. Only when I replaced the SD it appeared all again.

Unfortunately Nintendo is yet living in the past...
