Thumbs up Trying to revive a dying game; Animal Crossing New Leaf

Now although this game came out in November (8th) of 2012, the game is still immensely fun to me, and many others. However I've noticed that on this forum in general the "hubba" for it died out, which I would expect for a game a few years old but not for a game with the premise that AC:NL has.

~

The primary point for this Thread is not only for you to share your thoughts and feelings about the game, but to also get people playing again. I think it's a great social game and I loved having people on these forums from many years ago play with me. With that said, if you'd like to play for a while partaking in timed fishing or bug quests, as well as just general chill-ness within the game, let me know!

It just got too tedious for me, and eventually I was like "what's the point?"

I had a lot of fun playing when New Leaf first came out, but once I had done all there is to be done and collected in the game, there was no more motivation to play anymore.

New Leaf was good, but I wanna play a new Animal Crossing. I'm still pretty bummed out Nintendo made amiibo Festival over a new Animal Crossing for Wii U.

New Leaf is a great game, but as far as Animal Crossing games goes, I got bored of it somewhat quickly. There are older, better entries to the series (in my opinion). I might be compelled to start over and make a new town one day.

New Leaf was a blast but as most people here said, it did get old after a while. Besides, for me personally, nothing beats the Gamecube AC

The game is still played actively - if the more specific to the game sites are anything to go by - but on the more general boards for all games such as this one, acnl doesn't really show up as being active.
acnl used to have a special thread here - if you want to make it active again, you need to set up such a thread where players can ask qns, trade & visit other towns.

It's been a while since I've played AC:NL. Ever since people found a way to easily hack the game, I've started losing interest in it. It's not about how hard a player works to make a wonderful town anymore.

I'm interested in this game and I might pick it up soon, is it still worth it as I know it is an older game?

I also want to visit towns or whatever you can do online and was wondering if there are people still playing the game or is it dying like this thread's title says?

Any replies would be appreciated

it is well worth for singleplayer alone but if you really want to find people to play with online I would recommend going to http://www.animalcrossingcommunity.com (do people still go there?)

There are several boards that are just specific to the game and all are active - yes animal crossing community, the Bell Tree forums, gamefaqs, and reddit. All these boards have trade boards attached to them, plus boards for information about the game.

eg Reddit's

https://www.reddit.com/r/AnimalCrossing/

https://www.reddit.com/r/ACTrade

I would recommend The Bell Tree Forums; but all of them are good & active.

Edit: but we could do the same here - by setting up a thread for talk & trade - there was one here when the game first came out.

I'm very interested in playing the game again if I have at LEAST some people to play along me regularly!

I think it would be really rad I could just check my friend's list and see a full list of people playing and able to chat with right from my own town... even though that's a bit ambitious.

Question: if I were to theoretically make a new town, is it possible to give your favourite items to someone else and have them give them back once a new town is made? I'm sick of the town I have now but I am in love with a lot of the furniture and clothes I've already collected.

Me too. Kind of fun for those 90 hours or so I played it, though. Actually, I thought this thread was going to be about the Amiibo functionality recently announced for New Leaf which, I think, is the first time they've put Amiibo into an older game. It will be interesting to see if it has any effect.

Woah they are releasing a patch for this game after 4+ years
Adding amiibo / card support and splatoon theme stuff

"This Fall"

But yeah the aim of the game is just to customize customize customize so once that runs out you just go "oh, annoying grind where everything takes longer than it should"

AC is one of those games that are fun like the first month and then they get really boring really fast... I prefer Harvest Moon or Rune Factory.

I was fun for the first 1,400 hours then it got boring.
Like, every day for a full year....

Where HM I'm over it in a month as I've likely killed the game by then.

Each to their own I guess.

For me HM has always had way more to do than AC, I just think AC is purely social with no true replayability, whereas in some HM games there is usually a main storyline, then it becomes a sandbox with plenty to do.

With Switch on its way next year everyone can look forward to another AC. It will be interesting to see what changes they make, but I doubt I'll want to play it. I just went through the screenshots I took on my 3DS and I had a great time (once I got a pair of 3D glasses I *never* took them off, apparently), but once into that world was enough.
