Its a cartoon that's done really well... a certain rarity for the cartoons of today. I bet the kind chaps over at the donbluthanimation.com community would kind of agree with me. It's sad. People see ponies and stuff and are automatically turned away from it. If the characters in the show a more "manly" type of animal or something else that people would consider "manly", I'm sure tons of the people making fun of it would actually like it.
Like let's say one of the haters likes Naruto. If Naruto was a girl pony but most of the rest of the show was the same, they probably wouldn't want to watch it just because it was ponies.

 They drive me to model! D: Pony 3D Model vs. 1.0 this is just the base mesh. Spent an entire day working on it. Things to be added: - Hair - Tail - Texture - Animation Also coding a program to customize this mesh into your own little pony... That's just the tip of the iceberg, I wont reveal the full purpose of this project until after the launch of the 3DS c.c I'll start a topic about it in the Pony Group of these forums later today when I have a little more progress with this model. Update on that model from earlier:
 The texture so far is looking meh... I may do away with the detailed shading and go for a toon cell shading. Also, I posted a thread in the Pony Group concerning the project. I encourage my fellow bronies to check it out!

Alright, progress so far...  Eyes are now customizable and you can now add your own cutie-mark. As of right now I am gladly accepting request from people who want to create their own 3D pony... just send me the following information: - Name of your custom pony - color for the body - color for the eyes - color for the tail and hair (they share the same color) - and a 64 x 64 png image for your cutie mark (keep it simple! too much detail looks ugly and barely recognizable)  And for the hell of it, here's the work folder I put together for this project. I love to customize! :  That's all for now Cheerio! |

I'll be working extra hard on the pony model today.
And some custom ponies as well. I have two requests so far (spanning two forums) Anyway, today's (and all this week) planned additions: - Wings (folded to the side or outstretched) - Unicorn horn - Additional layers for multi-colored hair and tail - Additional layers for natural pony markings (spots) - Additional hair styles (lumpy, curly, etc) - Additional eye styles (they will all be animated) - Animation bones in Milkshape 3D (so I can work on mesh animations) - 2D hand drawn Avatar for the custom 3D pony (may do this in several poses as well as expressions) That is all for now |
