I find it odd that Nintendo is hosting the press briefing at Makuhari Messe complex, the venue of the Tokyo Game Show. It is a expo. I guess you and I have thought that the September 29th briefing was just going to be a low-key event where Ninty simply announces dates and prices. But hosting at Makuhari Messe complex could mean something.

One. They are going to blow up the event really big.

Why would the conference take place in a huge place? Surely they are going to bring some booths down to let people to experience the 3DS and have third parties show off their games.

Two. This could mean a 2010 release date.

Since they took up the complex and are willing to show off more on the 3DS to peeps, I can now assume that there will be a 2010 release for Japan, and hopefully.. for North America too.

Three. The 3DS itself could release on September 29th (or near that date) in Japan

I know this is very unlikely, but since with all the space Ninty is going to have at Makuhari Messe complex, they will advertise the 3DS at full. They might (I say they might) just release the 3DS in Japan on the 29th, or around that date.

Because they are following GameFreak's footsteps and getting major on advertising the 3DS, they wanna boost everyones hype levels.

No really, like in some other threat, limited info on the 3DS is the only reason not to hype over it. A lot.

The only reason Sega killed themselves, was because the internet wasn't as good as it is now. If everybody knew about it, everybody would've been surprised and bought it day one. The new 360 was shipped to retailers right after it was revealed. It's not what I would expect, but Nintendo could pull off releasing it that day. Who knows

They could get it in September/October this year, while we get it in November.
