I love the Paper Mario series to death! I didn't like the third one though; Super Paper Mario. I just don't consider it part of the series, I thought it was terrible.

I don't think Super Paper Mario was terrible. It was sort of fun. But compared to the other Paper Mario games, SPM was dirt, while the others were gold. It's still a kind of fun game though.

Firstly, I've been lurking for far too long, so I made an account. Hi.
Secondly, I'm a big turn-based RPG fan, and I would love to see more Nintendo franchises get Paperized. Paper Zelda, Paper Kirby, etc. Each with their own stories, worlds, and characters. i went to game stop and asked the guy when does paper mario 3ds come out and he saied the same day as star fox 64 comes out some time in september

Im looking forward to what extra element they have added to the turn-based combat.
Super paper mario Is such a great game because your not helpless during the combat, you have a chance to defend yourself and even retaliate during an opponents turn. |

I noticed some things from the trailer that some of you also may have noticed.
First there are 7 crowns in the book at 13 seconds (3DS buzz I believe caught that from the video) Second it seems like you may have to buy attacks(look on store shelves and you'll see several icons like jump and hammer for low amounts of coins.) Third attacks do more damage (pretty obvious 5 damage with regular jump) and hp for enemies has been increased. Fourth you can continue to get the action command until the sticker is fully peeled. Fifth Toad following Mario around... Yeah you guys probably noticed all or most of that already but posting anyway. Last night, I had a dream that I got a Gamecube conttrolller and Paler Mario: The Thousand Year Door to play on my Wii. I really need to get that game sometime.
Anyways though, I'm not too sure I like this sticker thing in Paper Mario 3DS. It looks like we wont even be able to do a jump attack in battle without a jump sticker. Why can't they just make a game like the first two Paper Marios? |

I can't wait for this game!
I've been a fan since the beginning, and I plan to stay one until the very end! I never beat the first one, but I completed The Thousand Year Old Door and Super Paper Mario! (:-> When I bought Super Paper Mario at Toys R Us, the employee who was in charge of the video games section went on a tangent about how HE disliked what they did with the game (not being turned based in all), but I found myself loving it from the very beginning to the very end! Nintendo won't let us down, this game is going to be amazing. ;D |

Super Paper Mario: It was a great game, deffinetly did not live up to the standards of the series but I still play it a lot and am at about 1000 hours. people don't seem as excited about this game as I thought they would be. The first 2 Paper Mario's are among my favorite RPGs, the 3rd is an okay game but I really don't consider it a Paper Mario. Just hoping this one takes more after the first 2. It's already been shown to be an RPG which is a good start. But its still kind of vague about what's going on.
They showed partners in the first screenshots but took them out in the trailer. In the trailer Mario went into the store and could buy a hammer and a shoe for 1 coin each. making me wonder if each attack has to be paid for in advance. |

I hate how you have to buy all your moves. You can't just use a hammer attack in battle anytime. Now you need to make sure you have a sticker to do it.

There're also those blank spots that look like outlines for shoes and junk. There's no telling what any of that means though. I also notice I haven't seen any flower points. I haven't been this excited for a game since Brawl.
Paper Mario is my favourite games series (even if SPM sucked), and all the trailers so far have been amazing. I'll be pretty disappointed if they don't include partners in the series; partners are awesome. I agree with the person who suggested a cataquack as a partner, we haven't seem them in a while (Since SMG) and as annoying as they are, they could wield some cool attacks. I'd also like a Noki as a partner. |

I have really high hopes for this game, the main reason being it's coming back to the RPG style, I really hated Super Paper Mario because of the change, and well, I didn't really find a way to keep me playing it, but the story was pretty good and dimentio was cool XD. Paper mario and Paper mario: The thousand years door are some of the best mario games ever made, and we finally get a new one with the old style that made those games great :3. PaperMario4Life

When I first saw a trailer of Paper Mario I fell in love because it wasn't like SPM! That game was like a slap in the face. But sorry to tell you the truth but it will always be a goomba as they are known to be the weakest and they always have tattle. Also Koopas are the second enemy in the game and it is always great! the only thing I see that I might not like are like the fan and scissors... It seems like you collect office equipment... Also what I don't like but I would get used to it is the battle. As it is viewed diagonally rather than a 2d look. I am excited for this game and the bosses as well

I love the Paper Mario / Mario RPG games. I had bought Super Paper Mario earlier this year when the price dropped to 20 bucks. I thought it was fun, but the problem I had was that it was way too easy. I didn't die once during the whole game. Not sure what characters I'd want in the new one though. I just hope it's great and maybe a little more challenging.
Sorry to change the subject a little, but a game I've been wanting to see a sequel too, is Super Princess Peach. I thought it was fun, even though I haven't played it too much. Was hoping for a sequel on the Wii, but one on the 3DS would be cool too.

Also from the website it says that this game will have "seals" (No mention of badges, but I'm sure its basically the same idea) And that you are able to make your own (!!) seals. It mentions that in places where there seems to be a dead end (no door, no pipe etc) you are able to use "door" and "pipe" seals to essentially solve the puzzle of that area. I am translating this from the Nintendo Japan Paper Mario 3DS page so if anyone wants something translated I may be able to help

And yeah, I've never really played any of the other Paper Mario games before. However, I will say that I'm a big fan of the Mario and Luigi: Superstar Saga for the GBA. I know that the Mario and Luigi series are different than the Paper Mario series, but I'm still excited for Paper Mario on the 3DS. |

Paper Mario is much like Pokemon- an RPG cleverly disguised in a franchise that is known for it's design.
Most Pokemon players are kids that don't realize Pokemon is a strategy game, and instead are in it for collecting and what not. Paper Mario is a great Mario RPG staple, and without it, I doubt Mario would be as popular as it was for the Nintendo 64. We have 3D Mario games for each main console as well as a Paper Mario for each main console since the Nintendo 64. No doubt Paper Mario 3DS will be a great game, worthy of the Mario title, but don't forget- it's an RPG! |

Well, it's a bit hard to judge considering it isn't even out yet!
If you have a Wii, you could purchase Paper Mario (N64) in the Virtual Console and see if you like what you see. Paper Mario on the 3DS will be a similar concept, but again, it's too early to tell if it's worth buying.

I literally watched the whole E3 in my grade 9 business class (that was one and a half years ago) to see if Paper Mario would be unveiled for the 3ds. Of course, I was really upset when they didnt talk about it... But then... After the event, they unveiled more games on the 3ds website. Animal Crossing and Paper Mario being some of them. I guess they couldn't fit every game in the conference.
