Well, the other 19 don't have tutorials...unless you count explanations of new "stuff".

Which is great, but I mean come on, I'm on the second giant fight, and I still have to hear that pillow explain to me how to do the special spinning combo with Mario. Granted, I would have screwed up without him explaining it, but still.

I gotta say, the humor has picked up perfectly once I got in Wakeport. I'm at Driftwood Shore now. This might even be the funniest of the four games, with the Massif Bros and all. They might be my favorite Mario characters now

Is anyone having trouble fighting (SORTA SPOILERS) Big Massif X? The game says I have 12 turns to beat him, but after 3 turns, Mario gets KO'd automatically by a green clock.

I don't get it, if I only have 3 turns to beat him, why is the game telling me I have 12?

No, it's not that I can't beat him, it's the fact that the game kills me after 3 turns, when supposedly I have 12 turns to beat him. Is this some sort of glitch?

That never happened to me! I had the UK version though... ask around to see if any one else is having the same problem.

Does anyone else get some motion control glitches on the zeekeeper battle? This is why I don't like the giant battles.

The tutorials make me want to stop playing the game soon after I boot it up. I know Nintendo's main concern is casuals/inexperienced gamers, but this has got to be the slowest start to any RPG I've played...and I've played many RPG's.

It's a huge problem that's killing the pacing for me, but otherwise the game seems solid. Interesting art style, catchy music, same great gameplay, the dreamworld is actually fun to go in, etc. So far there are less endearing characters and witty dialouge than previous ones, but I'm only a few hours in so far. Looks like it might be better than PiT, but SS and BIS remain supreme.

The tutorials basically end after the first 2-3 hours of the game, other than a few occasionally for new luiginary moves. The characters also get a lot better.

That's good to hear. After I finished Fire Emblem, my 3DS was sitting, collecting dust. Decided to give this a shot, and if what you say is true, between this and that excellent indie game Steamworld Dig, I should be using it plenty until the fateful day arrives...the twelfth...of October...

Dangit. I haven't picked this game up in a few weeks. I'm STILL preoccupied by New Leaf, which I've played almost every day straight for 3 months. That may be a record for any AC game - even in my childhood.

I played the demo. I think I'll wait a bit longer. I liked it, but I wasn't blown away at all.

Started playing. No regrets. It's made me laugh so hard and I am drooling over the art and music.

I FINALLY picked up this game again last night and I'm so glad I did. I got through the desert part; and now I feel energized enough to take on the whole game. No breaks. Bring it.

I just beat the final boss, and even though the game was awesome, I'm kind of disappointed.
Spoiler!

I feel empty inside.

I finished the game about a week ago and I felt although it was extremely fun, the final boss was a bit of a pushover. I was only level 37 when I beat the game but the Bros Egg attack and the flying star attack made the boss way too easy.

Aww. I'm sorry to hear the boss battle is lackluster. I'll try to keep that in mind. I haven't touched my game in like a week but I'm at my second trip to Wakeport to build the bed.

I hope I can find all the picture snapshots for the puzzles! Those are fun.

Once you beat the game, it asks if you want to start a game on the same file on intense mode, so get everything you need before fighting bowser.

I found the final battle to be really difficult... but it was probably because I didnt collect enough bro moves. The ones I had were too hard for me to do or just annoying. I wish they werent so gyro-controlled. Basically I could keep alive but inflicting enough damage to do anything before his heals? I finally just put it on Easy mode because I was really tired of all the time I put into it and didnt want to go back.

But the Antasma battle was a blast. He seriously creeped me out.

I had trouble with quite a few moves too. A lot of practice worked that out though. I'm almost done, currently at Bowser's NEW castle. Looking forward to intense mode. This is probably the best game I bought this year, game time wise.

Nice deal.

I have finally beaten the game after 60 hours and 28 minutes. Intense mode will be fun!

why isn't there an option that says that I like the game but I don't want one right now? I mean there already is a M&L RPG game on the 3DS, but one is enough.

I would appreciate another Mario & Luigi title for the 3DS. But, they should definitely wait 2 years at least. I'm thinking about buying Bowser's Inside Story once I have cleared Intense mode.

The poll was made before Dream Team was announced. Notice it says "4th" Mario and Luigi game which would be Dream Team, and how the final one mentions it should be on the DS "To be fair" which would imply this was back when the 3ds was still new.

I did enjoy this game a lot, but for some reason I just didn't find it as exciting to play as I hoped. I got bored during some parts of it. But still, it's a good game and a better Mario RPG than Paper Mario: Sticker Star is.

lol... Doesn't anybody check thread dates?

The next M&L game in the series is the 5th one, not the 4th. I created this thread and poll almost 3 years ago, so way, waaaay before Dream Team (which IS the 4th game in the series) was announced.

I finished the game yesterday. The game was fantastic overall, and I still can't get the battle music out of my head. This totally blew Bowser's Inside Story out the water for my favorite Mario & Luigi game.

But am I the only one who felt that the entire Driftwood Shore section with the Dream Eggs was a complete waste of time?
Spoiler!

That part was a little dull, as well as the part where you need to break the rocks to get the piece. The worst parts overall were all the obvious giant luigi fights. The zeek keeper being the worst and most annoying. The gyroscope stuff was so annoying.

With the exception of having to use the gyroscope to aim for such a small target during the finishers, not to mention I could never get an Excellent on the Bros. Attack, the giant battles were actually some of my favorite sections. I liked how they changed the battlefield for each boss, and the scripting made them epic.

My problem with the Zeekeeper is that he either got waaay too much attack time, or his attacks did too much damage during that time frame. Either one didn't really leave a lot of room for error, and it resulted in my first Game Over in a giant fight. The gyroscrope didn't give me too much trouble, though I'm lucky not to have been hit with the glitch where a lot of people reported it would stop working completely.

Dream Teams Giant battles aren't perfect and definitely have some flaws, but I think they're an improvement over Bowser's Inside Story's giant fights (like the awkward DS angle and how the mic on the DSi wouldn't even pick up the sound for the flamethrower, and it's on the freaking hinge! -_-)

Let's hope Nintendo decides to work on a 2nd Mario and Luigi game for the 3DS just like they did for the DS.

Now that it has been a year, how would those of you who have played Dream Team rank it compared with other entries in the series (SS, PiT, BIS)?

I still have not played it, and would be glad to hear everyone's input.
