I'd totally dig it...

goddammit that was the worst unintentional pun I've ever heard

But yeah, no way it'll happen until the full release of the game. I mean, Minecraft is on iPhone now, so perhaps a 3DSWare version might not be too far?

Yes, I've thought of this before. Minecraft 3DS would be so awesome. The 3D effects would make the Minecraft landscape even more amazing.

The only problem I can think of is controls.

Slide-Pad: Movement
Touch Screen: Aiming/Crafting
L-Button: Placing/Removing Blocks. But how would you easily and quickly change between the two? The only thing I can think of would be tapping a button on the touch screen which switches the controls, but this would get annoying really fast.

The great thing about Minecraft is its terrible graphics (lol). Minecraft's graphics could easily be translated to the 3DS.

Minecraft 3DS would outsell Animal Crossing. For seriously.

Minecraft isn't suited to the 3DS. It relies on constantly receiving new updates and features, which the 3DS is not designed to do.

(well, if they updated the firmware to support this feature I suppose it could work...)

Esposch, Minecraft is still in beta, so of course it's getting a buttload of updates. When it's out of beta it would be better suited for a console.

I honestly don't think they'd ever stop with the updates. Not for years after the proper release, anyway.

Well of course they'd never stop updating it, but if the game was 3DSware, it would be better suited for updates.

Not necessarily. It just doesn't seem very Nintendo to have the infrastructure in place at all for weekly/monthly updates.

Once minecraft leaves beta there won't be weekly/monthly updates. Maybe once every 4 or 5 months, probably not even that. And since the 3DS can receive information while it's in sleep mode, that wouldn't be too much of a problem.

Can someone explain to me what's so great about Minecraft? I've played it seen videos of people playing it but it's just completely boring. It's like the world gets obsessive over really stupid games:
this, Plants vs Zombies, Angry Birds.
They're all so simple and not that fun. I'd rather just play games on Newgrounds.

Minecraft is fun, you just have to play it. It's like what I've heard about Steel Diver: It's an amazing game, but you have to play it to appreiciate it.

I have played. And it's heavily overrated. Just like practically everything else now. I'm not saying things are bad because they're popular, I'm just saying a lot of bad things are really popular.
*cough* Halo, Call Of Duty, Gears of War, FPS games in general *cough

That, or they could use the top of the d-pad to switch, that'd be a little bit less annoying, at least. They could also use left and right on the d-pad to cycle through your inventory.

I'd pay soooo much for that! Minecraft needs to get onto some other platforms, I'd kill to see it on the home consoles, smartphones, and portable consoles. Having it in 3D? I MUST HAVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The inventory will be on the touch screen, you would just have to tap the block. I would think L would be destroy, R would be place, A, B, X, or Y could be jump, and... hmmm... That's actually all the controls in minecraft, I think :/

OH YES! Sneaking, I forgot sneaking. B for sneaking, A for jump, L for destroy, R for place, and you should be able to play on local wireless, and chose whether you want to play classic or survival mode, and an options button somewhere on the touch screen... This is getting really speculative xD
