The 3DS wouldn't have the memory to run a completely random generated world. This isn't to say I wouldn't love to see it happen, though. :/

Memory wouldn't be a problem - just have it save all the worlds to an SD card.

@GameSparker
Let me google that for you

This would be pretty cool to see on the 3DS I can play Minecraft for hours.

The same way any other game in 3D would work. Also, unnecessary question marks ftl.

^that
I mean really, you used like 50 question marks, and you're questioning Nintendo's ability to make a previously 2D game into 3D. Which they've already done.

Same here. Wha? An iphone version? And to the guy who said Minecraft was over-hyped, the game is simply amazing. I've never played a game where I've been so constantly (and pleasantly) surprised.

I totally forgot about the D-Pad. That would definitely be the best option for switching between placing and removing blocks. To the people talking about A, B, X, and Y controls, how would you aim where you are placing/removing the blocks?

I already have Minecraft on my computer... I played it obsessively for a little while and now I've lost interest. I can't see it coming to the 3DS though.

Minecraft was just officially announced to be coming to the iPhone and iPad. Do you think this gives the 3DS a better chance of getting Minecraft?

It does... sort of. A friend of mine started up a server (you can use a personal PC) and we (all of our friends) play on it. It's a lot of fun.

Just go to minepedia and it'll tell you how to set one up that you and your friends can play on.

There are public servers though but they aren't very good.
