Question What Do You Use To Make Music?

Okay so I lied a little bit. The computer I am going to craft will also be a media PC, for watching, listening, and recording too. I want to get into making the music itself also to expand my musical capabilities themselves. But this is all new territory to me. How will I create the music on computer? Not recording itself, but programs to do it.

I use Adobe Audition. A cheaper (free) alternative would be Audacity.

Isn't Audacity for recording though?

Logic!
Get logic! It's simple and easy to use. It's not too expensive either

He's getting a gaming computer. I'm assuming his computer won't be running OS X...the only platform Logic is available for.

Yeah, I am planning on running Windows 7 Home, not OS X.

I'm still trying to make electronic music here, and I've tried...

Steingberg Cubase Elements 6
Ableton Live 8
Image-Line FL Studio 10

And I was only able to make something out of FL Studio 10. It looks like a good software to start. But there's one thing you should know. I may use FL Studio 10, but most of my sounds arsenal comes from external VST plugins and WAV sample packs. The only FL Studio bundled thing I use for sounds is Sytrus.

That's because almost everything bundled in FL Studio doesn't quite cut it. The cool things are the interface, some tools and Sytrus, IMO.

But even if FL Studio is a good place to start, it's still not intuitive, and it's still a bit of a pain in the ass. You should follow video tutorials, especially for Sytrus.
